How to download documents:
  1. To save any of the documents below to your own computer, simply RIGHT-click your mouse on a blue underlined link and choose 'Save target as...'
  2. You can then save the document to your Desktop (or somewhere else that is convenient) by clicking the Save button.
  3. Alternatively, if you just click normally (left-click) on the blue underlined link, the file will be automatically transferred to your computer and opened in Microsoft Word for Windows. You can then save and print it.

This time there is a simple exercise to do to get you used to using AOLPress. The exercise is in six parts, and covers simple aspects of adding pages, text and creating links (etc.). It is highly recommended that you try out the exercise! Have fun!

Week 5 & 6 Letter Week 5 & 6 Tasks -- -- -- -- -- On this occasion we look at adding graphics to your website - pictures of all types can be used to make a website more colourful and informative. In addition, the activity looks at accessibility issues: making your website available to everyone irrespective of their physical abilities. This is an important activity and one all website owners should complete.

Week 7 & 8 Letter Week 7 & 8 Tasks -- -- -- -- -- This time we look at adding extra pages and linking them to your main page (index.htm). This is a vital part of building a website and needs a little practice. Also, we look at making external links: from your website to other sites around the Internet.  Have fun!

Week 9 & 10 Letter Week 9 & 10 Tasks -- -- -- -- -- This time we look at creating 'anchors', which is a way of moving from place to place within a particular page (instead of from page to page). A very useful technique!

Week 11 & 12 Letter Week 11 & 12 Tasks How to use FTP -- -- -- -- The penultimate consignment of the course, when you get a chance to check everything is complete and 'debug' your site before using FTP to upload everything to a web host. This is your chance to finally see your website 'live'!

Uploading Files to Bob's Web Server -- -- -- -- The end of the course! No tasks or letter this time, as all the important administration material was delivered with the previous fortnight's materials. There is a file all about uploading your site to my practice web server though, which is well worth downloading and printing.
